Tamás Freund, has received the Csengery Memorial Medal

Tamás Freund, a Széchenyi Prize-winning neurobiologist who is the head of department at Pázmány Péter Catholic University and the director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine, as well as being the president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, has received the Csengery Memorial Medal. His research findings have played a decisive role in the widespread understanding of learning processes and memory mechanisms. As president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Tamás Freund has played an important role in the development of education, particularly public education and the next generation of scientists. During his presidency, he has provided significant support for educational research through open competitions as part of the 'MTA Public Education Development Research Programme', which has led to a significant increase in the number of high-level educational research projects and publications in the country.
