The Doctoral School consists of seven main educational and research programs. These training programs are built on a common foundation. Students can choose from the same course offerings. Depending on their prior studies and qualifications, they take foundational subjects and, depending on their chosen research area, specific specialized courses. The number of courses and the semesterly study load are regulated by the credit system. The training programs are not isolated from each other in terms of research; the faculty of the doctoral school strives to initiate as many cross-training programs as possible, offering versatile cooperation opportunities through joint projects, in which the school's students can develop independent sub-tasks. Collaboration can expand the spectrum of research methods and can have a mutually inspiring effect by learning about the theories and models of different fields. The following section introduces these seven research-training programs.
The research work is entirely personalised and conducted under the guidance of a supervisor. The study regulations, including the credit system, determine the framework for individual work.
